Both of Lola’s parents have an art background. While her mother was an actress, her father was a musician. They were talented artists, and Lola occasionally had motivations from her parents. Pia Tung, her mother, always encouraged her daughter when she learned about her daughter’s interests. She has been through every thick and thin in Lola’s efforts to become an actress. Moreover, Lola Tung has previously told interviewers that her mother always pep-talked her into auditions. Pia never pressured Lola into anything and assured her, “No matter what happens, I’m proud of you.”

This person later became Lola’s manager, and they started working together. Soon, the audition for The Summer I Turned Pretty came out. JB Smith and Sandra Valde-Hansen worked on the cinematography of the film’s adaptation. The inspiration behind its making came from Jenny Han’s trilogy series of the same name. Tung was taking remote college classes at the time of her audition. She had auditioned for TSITP at a Zoom conference. The creators chose her for the lead role. Eventually, she made a milestone. Lola took up the lead role of Isabel “Belly” Conklin in the series.

What Are Her Other Accomplishments in The Industry?

Tung signed a contract deal with Creative Artists Agency, an American talent agency, in September 2021. This happened soon after she took up the lead role of Belly in TSITP. She has also participated in workshops. She worked with Tom Kitt and Cameron Crowe to develop Almost Famous at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center. The workshop took place in November 2023. Public readings occurred on November 11, 15, and 18 in the same year. Additionally, she made her debut in the Tony Award-winning musical Hadestown. She replaced Solea Pfeiffer from February 9 to March 17.
